Crikey Duck and all characters therein (c) Tania Walker and Vicki Eden.

Gasp! It's sequential art! This is the first page of a page-per-week webcomic ~ blitterbug and I are working on. It's an ongoing story, character-based.

The comic has it's own website, located at CRIKEYDUCK.COM (www.crikeyduck.com), and I won't be uploading any future issues to DevArt, so if you want to follow the comic, please bookmark the website!

You might wanna zoom in to see this. Curse you, Dev! Curse you and your puny thumbnails!

Like a multi-limbed gestalt entity, ~ blitterbug and I share duties on this comic; we live in the same house, so doing these things is a very interactive process. Officially, we come up with ideas in group sessions, I write most (but not all) of the scripts, Vix does the ruff pencils, I do the clean pencils, Vix does the coloring and lettering, Vix designed the website, and I handle uploading and maintenance.

In reality, we work together on just about every stage; I'll make corrections to the ruff, she'll make corrections to the clean pencils, I get input into the coloring, and we both tweak the dialogue once it hits Photoshop stage.

I'm hoping I get faster and sleeker with the clean pencils, because right now that's the slowest part. We really want to try to get a finished page per week out, so wish us luck! Let life not interfere too much.

Should this experiment actually succeed, I'm hoping to print and sell yearly collections - roughly fifty comics per book. We'll see how we go. :)

I love comics of all kinds, especially those that bring a new twist to an old style. Crikey Duck issue 1 by *animator got me hooked on her story with just one page. (Suggested by ~Kael-Seleill-Nulaad and Featured by `gatekeeper501)

Glad you like! :D

They're in Brisbane, Australia. :) We originally had 'Australia' in that first tagline, but took it off for space purposes. But yeah - that's where the 'crikey' in Crikey Duck comes from. It's an old Australian expression. *amused* ...which is still used by Steve Irwin. Oyy. ;)

Yeah, I knew crikey was from Australia. :P I think anyone anywhere else knows that. They're just talking a little bit differently than usual, and I can't recognize the city name.

Darrell's got a Southern accent, Ranger has a faint English accent, and Zakiya is just plain American - though with a sort of upper-class delivery. :) But all that'll come out in later strips. Introducing a character through comics is such a slow process. o_O;;
